- 5.0 out of 5 stars from ironcat -- Brilliant, practical and relatable. : As a mindfulness meditation teacher, I've always felt the minimum amount of daily meditation practice (to see a real improvement) was 20-40 minutes at least once a day. Peak Mind challenges this assumption and backs it up with years of research and numerous studies. Amishi and her team have demonstrated that with a "minimum dose" of 12-15 minutes (of meditation) 5 or more days a week, you can see consistent and measurable improvements. Of course, more is better. I am always in my head, never thinking about the activity I'm doing, but rather thinking of the next three things on my to-do list, all while half-watching a video message from my kid's school on my phone and reading an email alert on my watch. It's too much! Peak Mind reminds me to slow down and focus my attention on one thing at a time. Dr. Jha makes mindfulness accessible to everyone with her easy writing style.
